From January 15th to 17th, the 7th China Electric Vehicle Association Forum with the theme of "New Development Pattern and Automotive Industry Reform" was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. In the beginning year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the forum will invite representatives from domestic and foreign governments, industry institutions, scientific research institutions and enterprises to make suggestions for the new development pattern, new goals and new paths of new energy vehicles online. Due to the need of epidemic prevention, this forum is held online.
Joachim Damasky, Executive Director of the Association of German Automobile Manufacturers, gave a keynote speech at the International Forum on January 16, and pointed out that the German car industry supports a climate-neutral transport goal by 2050, with all available technology being put to work. Environmentally friendly internal combustion engines, energy efficient engines, synthetic fuels and hydrogen energy will continue to play an important role. Decarbonization of transport must be achieved through a massive increase in the production of renewable energy, and efficient climate policies must ensure that companies are cost-effective and profitable if they are to succeed in international competition. The ambitious targets set by the Commission must be backed by strong policy frameworks, such as renewable energy infrastructure.
